Floating Museum to Connect Culture and Tourism in Durrës

Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the inauguration of the artistic residence “Villa 31 x Art Explora,” a newly transformed cultural hub designed to host Albanian and international artists for cultural events.

During his address, Rama announced that Albania will host its first-ever floating museum at the Port of Durrës in April. The museum will remain in the port for 10 days as part of its Mediterranean tour.

“This April, we will have the privilege of hosting the first floating museum, which will stay for 10 days in the Port of Durrës before completing its Mediterranean circuit. In the coming years, we aim to bring more exciting initiatives like this,” Rama said.

French Ambassador to Albania, Catherine Suard, who was also present, highlighted the significance of the floating museum as a unique connection between culture and tourism. She described the project, organized by the “Art Explora” foundation, as a meaningful contribution to cultural exchange.

“Durrës has been selected as one of 20 cities for this Mediterranean journey. This floating museum symbolizes the union of art and waterborne travel—a passion France is proud to share,” the ambassador stated.
