RTSH’s Fest 64 second night ends, 28-song lineup completed

TIRANA, December 19 – The second night of Albanian Radio and Television (RTSH) Song Fest 64 concluded at the Palace of Congresses last evening. With this night, all 28 competing songs performed. The festival moved into its final phase, where only 23 artists will advance to the finale.
Earlier, Jean Philip De Tender, deputy director general of the European Broadcasting Union, praised the high level of Albanian talent and performances. He said he looked forward to welcoming some of the artists to Vienna for next year’s Eurovision, highlighting close cooperation between RTSH and EBU.
During the evening, Gala Dragot delivered a special performance of her song “Femcel Anthem.” She explained that the song emerged from a period of loneliness, inspired by an ideal man who did not exist.
Actor Salsano Rrapi presented a reflective monologue with a social message. He asked the audience to appreciate doctors, honest judges, and women. He highlighted their unseen sacrifices, such as doctors responding to emergencies and judges returning home unprotected after sentencing criminals.
Tenor Ramë Lahaj, chair of the jury, performed two songs, “Shiu i Verës” [Summer Rain] and “Vetë ke mbet” [Alone You have Remained] accompanied by the RTSH Orchestra. He said the performance reflected RTSH’s six-decade effort to maintain this tradition. Lahaj also praised investments in musicians and modern stage design.
As the second night ended, organizers explained the mechanism for the finale. From 28 artists, 23 will advance, and 5 will be eliminated. The finale will include 5 debutant spots and 18 for the “Big” category.
Meanwhile, backstage activity included interviews conducted by Andri Xhahu and Antoneta Koci.
