President Begaj wishes Albanians a happy New Year: “Let 2026 be the year to turn European standards into tangible reality for every Albanian”

TIRANA, December 31 – President Bajram Begaj sent New Year greetings to all Albanians, calling 2026 a year of joint effort to make European standards a tangible reality in every family’s life.
He said the New Year is a time to reflect on the past and look forward with hope. Family values, he stressed, are the foundation of society, and investing in children and youth is key to building a European Albania.
Begaj highlighted Albania’s achievements in 2025, including progress toward EU integration, strengthening the rule of law, fighting corruption and organized crime, and reinforcing judicial independence.
He also greeted Albanians in Kosova, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Presheva Valley, Italy, and the diaspora, and sent special wishes to healthcare workers, security forces, journalists, and all on duty or away from home.
“Above all, I wish for more trust and understanding among us. Albania is our common home, our daily responsibility, and our shared future. With humility toward challenges, confidence in the values of work, solidarity, and civic responsibility, and determination to build our European future, I wish you from the heart: Happy New Year 2026! May God bless Albania and all Albanians, and bless you and your families!” Begaj concluded.
