TIRANA, January 12 – Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Elisa Spiropali held an online meeting with members of the Coordinating Council of the Diaspora. The discussion focused on cooperation and strengthening the diaspora’s role in addressing the country’s development challenges.

Spiropali said the meeting addressed three specific topics. These included the 2026-2030 National Diaspora Strategy, updates to the new Diaspora Law, and preparations for the Fourth Diaspora Summit.

She emphasized that the 2026-2030 National Diaspora Strategy will elevate interaction with Albanians abroad to a new level.

In addition, the minister noted that the meeting discussed updates to the new Diaspora Law. These updates include establishing Albanian Cultural Centers worldwide, strengthening the National Diaspora Agency, and increasing the number of members in the Coordinating Council of the Diaspora.

Finally, Spiropali said the meeting covered preparations for the Fourth Diaspora Summit. The event will take place in Tirana on April 14-15 and will serve as a concrete platform for cooperation.
