PM Rama at Peace Board: Albania to contribute troops for Gaza stabilization, proposes construction of facility for Palestinian children

TIRANA, February 19 – Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered a speech at the inaugural meeting of the Peace Board in Washington. At the outset, he thanked President Donald Trump for the invitation. He also thanked him for what he described as his decisive role in stopping the conflict in Gaza.

Rama expressed gratitude for being invited to be part of what he called this journey. In this context, he referred to claims that the Peace Board aims to replace the United Nations. However, he stated that it does not appear to him as an attempt to replace it. Instead, he said that if it helps shake that giant in agony and awaken it, then the Peace Board deserves support.

Furthermore, Rama confirmed that Albania will participate in the stabilization force with its troops. He described this as an important commitment to peace and security.

In addition, Rama reiterated his congratulations for what he called Trump’s decisive role in halting the painful conflict in Gaza. He emphasized that Albania has confirmed its participation in the stabilization force with its own troops.

At the same time, Rama proposed a concrete initiative. Specifically, he suggested that the Board invite all countries to contribute to the construction of a public facility for Palestinian children.

According to Rama, the world would help the children of Gaza, whom he described as the most innocent hostages of Hamas’ lunacy, grow up with the physical presence of what he called the largest chain of hands that have ever embraced humanity. In conclusion, he stated that the world should transform a wound of history into an oasis of hope. There, he said, the future would take shape around those who deserve it most, namely the next generation of Palestinians.
