Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, held a phone call today with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

During the conversation, Hoxha strongly condemned Iran’s attacks on Kuwait. He stressed that these actions clearly violate international law. Moreover, they undermine Kuwait’s sovereignty and pose serious threats to the safety of its citizens, the country’s economy, and regional and global stability.

Furthermore, Hoxha reaffirmed that Albania stands in full solidarity with Kuwait against any destabilizing actions.

He also reiterated Albania’s unwavering support for Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, a fundamental principle of the country’s foreign policy.

In addition, Hoxha confirmed that Albania will co-sponsor a draft resolution at the United Nations Security Council. The proposal comes from member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. It condemns Iran’s attacks against Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan. It also calls for the immediate cessation of these attacks.

Finally, Hoxha expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti authorities for their exceptional care and support for Albanian citizens in Kuwait during these challenging moments.
