TIRANA, March 12 – European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos stated that Albania currently ranks among the leading countries in the European Union accession process.

Kos shared the message on social media after a meeting with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha.

Meanwhile, discussions focused on interim benchmarks related to the rule of law. Kos said Albania must implement these objectives to maintain the pace of accession negotiations.

She also stressed that credible implementation remains essential for progress. According to Kos, meeting these benchmarks will help Albania reach European Union standards on the rule of law, the fight against corruption, and democratic governance.
