U.S. State Department condemns cyberattack against Assembly of Albania

TIRANA, March 13 – The U.S. State Department condemned a cyberattack by Iran targeting the email system of the Assembly of Albania, describing it as a hostile act against a NATO ally.
The department stated it is aware of the attack and is working with Albania to strengthen cybersecurity. It added that the two NATO allies continuously coordinate on shared security concerns and remain vigilant to protect both American and Albanian citizens.
The announcement follows the publication of data on Telegram by the hacker group “Homeland Justice,” which included emails and user information from the Assembly’s domain, parlament.al.
Meanwhile, the National Cyber Security Authority established a task force to analyze the situation and take necessary technical measures.
