The Speaker of Parliament, Niko Peleshi, met today with Anthony Smith, Executive Director of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD). The meeting took place shortly before a discussion table on strengthening democratic governance and advancing transformative change.

During the meeting, both sides praised the strong cooperation between the Parliament and WFD. They described this partnership as an added value in modernizing the parliamentary institution.

Moreover, the discussions focused on improving the quality of lawmaking and strengthening parliamentary oversight. In addition, they explored ways to support ongoing transformative and democratizing reforms in Albania.

Finally, Peleshi highlighted the importance of this cooperation in a social media post. He emphasized that WFD’s support contributes to the modernization of the Parliament and the advancement of key reforms.
