Anastas Kostandini is presented at COD with the exhibition ‘In the Footsteps of Thasos

The Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD) at the Prime Minister’s Office has announced the opening of the exhibition “In the Footsteps of Thasos” by artist Anastas Kostandini (Taso), curated by Rubin Kadiu. The exhibition will open on September 4.

Influenced by the works of masters such as Picasso, Dalí, and Kandinsky, Taso seeks to merge tradition with modernity, paving the way for his unique style.

“When reflecting on his artistic legacy, an important aspect is also the artist’s connection with the world of Lasgush and Fan Noli. His heritage will serve as a beacon of inspiration for future generations,” states COD.

The exhibition invites exploration of both familiar and fantastical spheres of the artist, guiding us through a narrative woven with symbolism, color, and texture, revealing the essence of his creative spirit and manifesting its profound impact on the contemporary art scene.

Curator Rubin Kadiu notes that, through bold brushwork and layered textures, Taso transforms canvases into vibrant tapestries, where light and shadow merge in a harmonious dance of contrasts.

Anastas Kostandini was born in Pogradec (July 29, 1954), where he still resides today.

In 1978, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana (Monumental Painting). One of his most notable works, where Taso is a co-author, is the mosaic “Albania” in the National Historical Museum. In 1991, he was awarded the title “Meritorious Painter.”Throughout his career, he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions.
