TIRANA, April 23 – Foreign Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha said Albania’s integration into the European Union remains a vital national priority in Delphi on Thursday. He spoke during a panel on EU enlargement in the Western Balkans at the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece.

Hoxha said EU enlargement promises made over two decades ago remain largely unfulfilled. He noted that Albania and regional countries have continuously worked to keep the integration process active despite long delays.

The minister pointed to the Thessaloniki Summit promise from 23 years ago as still pending implementation. He said credibility now defines the enlargement process, stressing that both sides must deliver concrete results after years of commitments.

European Union institutions have recently placed enlargement back at the centre of their agenda, according to Hoxha. He said Albania is determined to seize what he described as a rare opportunity, while warning that momentum could again fade without timely action.
