“Poppies on the Walls” at the DPA Summer Film Screening

At the Summer Cinema of the General Directorate of Archives (DPA), the latest film dedicated to the National Anti-Fascist Liberation War was screened.
Last evening’s feature was “Poppies on the Walls,” directed by Dhimitër Anagnosti and produced in 1976. This is the third cinematographic work restored by the Central State Film Archive (AQSHF) to be showcased at the DPA’s Summer Cinema, as part of the selected film repertoire for the National Year of the 80th Anniversary of Liberation.
The day before, the DPA’s director, Ardit Bido, personally invited fans of Albanian cinema to attend the next screening at the summer cinema.
Bido noted that these films are particularly valuable for young people, for whom World War II, 80 years ago, is a distant memory.
This initiative is one way the DPA tells the story of an important chapter in the Albanian nation’s history—the liberation of the homeland—through a series of films that will continue until November.
