Albanian icon exhibition remains open in Chambéry, France

TIRANA, August 31 – The exhibition “Icons of Albania – Treasures of the National Museum of Medieval Art of Korça” remains open to the public in Chambéry, France. The exhibition opened in June 2026.
Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja said the exhibition invites international audiences to discover Albania through its culture, art and heritage. He also highlighted Korça as an important cultural tourism destination.
The exhibition features more than 45 selected icons, including works by Onufri, the Zografi brothers and Master Kostandin. Gonxhja said the works bring part of Albania’s identity to France and create a new link with the country’s tourism offer.
The exhibition will remain open until November 13, 2026. This marks the first time that 45 selected icons from the National Museum of Medieval Art’s collection have reached the French public. The exhibition also strengthens cultural cooperation between Albania and France and promotes the country’s heritage in Europe.
