ACES Europe has named Albanian National Olympic Committee President Fidel Ylli its Honorary President for the Balkans. ACES Europe President Gian Francesco Lupatelli proposed the appointment.

The award recognizes Ylli’s efforts to promote sport and the European Cities of Sport initiative in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Bulgaria.

Ylli has promoted the initiative in Tirana, named European Capital of Sport, as well as Vlora, Shkodra, Korça, Pristina, Plovdiv and Ferizaj, recognized as European Cities of Sport.

KOKSH said the appointment would strengthen regional cooperation, bring communities closer through sport and encourage more people to embrace physical activity and Olympic values.
