EU tells Serbia election results do not change commitments in dialogue with Kosova

The European Union has stressed that Serbia’s parliamentary election results do not change the framework of its facilitated dialogue with Kosova. All commitments made by both sides in the normalisation process remain in force, an EU spokesperson told Radio Television of Kosova.
These include obligations under the 2023 Agreement on the Path to Normalisation and its Implementation Annex, known as the Ohrid Agreement. The spokesperson stressed that the dialogue does not depend on individual political leaders.
Brussels has not yet assessed how Serbia’s new government, following the early parliamentary elections on October 25, might affect Belgrade’s negotiating position or the progress of talks. The EU expects Serbia to engage constructively, honour its existing commitments and help advance normalisation.
The bloc has also expressed readiness to work with Serbia’s new leadership to maintain continuity in the dialogue and sustain progress towards normalising relations with Kosova.
