The National Cinematography Centre has announced the passing of actor and director Gjergji Mena at the age of 41.

The centre paid tribute to the young artist, highlighting his contribution to theatre and screen productions. Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja also expressed condolences, describing Mena as a talented actor and director who dedicated his work to the stage and inspired younger generations.

For 7 years, Mena led the “TK RIN ART” youth theatre festival with dedication. Through his work, hundreds of young people discovered theatre and developed a lasting interest in the performing arts.

His final production, Yerma, received strong acclaim and showcased his artistic sensitivity. Mena will be laid to rest today at 14:00 at Sharra Cemetery.
