Albania at Eurovision: Shkodra Elektronike Sets Final Touches Ahead of May 13 Performance

Only a few days remain until the first semi-final of Eurovision 2025, held this year in Basel, Switzerland.
After a successful first rehearsal at St. Jakobshalle Arena, Shkodra Elektronike returned to the stage for a second session. This time, they finalized the technical and artistic details of their May 13 performance, which will determine their place in the Grand Final.
For artists Beatriçe Gjergji and Kolë Laca, today’s session was both important and emotional.
“In the beginning, we had things to fix. Now we’ve built the stage we needed,” said singer Beatriçe. “Emotions? A bit, yes, but mostly focus. When you’re preparing, your brain should focus on the work, not fear. But maybe a thread of it…”
Their song Zjarm (Fire) brings a mix of Albanian tradition and electronic music to the Eurovision stage.
Costume designer Irina Dema embroidered the dress with the legend of Rozafa, inspired by her daughter. The stage concept was created by Ombra World Studio in London, under the artistic direction of Lorenzo De Pascalis. Visual design came from Emanuele Kabu, and lighting by Giorgio de Cassan.
Shkodra Elektronike wrote ‘Zjerm’ to speak to everyone. They urge Albanians everywhere to vote and help the song earn its place.
“Albanians from Albania, from Kosova, everyone who speaks Albanian—vote for us even if you don’t like the song. What does it cost you? Vote!” said artist Laca.
