Albanian Television Celebrates 65th Anniversary

Albanian Television celebrates today its 65th anniversary. This marks a milestone in national history. RTSH has served the public by informing, preserving culture, and enriching the arts.
In 1960, it began broadcasting to a limited area. Later, it expanded across the country. Today, RTSH covers the largest geographic area of any Albanian broadcaster.
“I remember these years with nostalgia—especially my 40 years at RTSH,” says Dhimitër Gjoka, a longtime presenter. “I honor those who helped build a beloved screen for Albanian audiences.”
“RTSH was the only TV channel in all of Albania,” recalls Ketri Gjoça, former host of the children’s show Me Ketin. “Wherever I went, people recognized me. I felt proud.”
“RTSH is my first and last love,” says Osman Mula, musician, director, and board member. “We grew up here. We built our names here. I wish RTSH a heartfelt birthday.”
For over six decades, RTSH has produced inclusive programming. It focuses on information, education, and entertainment.
Today, it offers hundreds of shows: documentaries, series, films, concerts, recitals, national music festivals, and theater.
RTSH celebrates dozens of contributors—journalists, musicians, artists, writers, technicians, cameramen, and producers—who enriched its programs.
RTSH remains Albania’s only public broadcaster. It aims to advance with technology and meet new challenges in media. RTSH is the television of Albania’s history.
