The Art Explora festival registered over 35,000 visitors and ended its 12-day edition in Durrës, setting sail for new destinations.
The festival ran from April 10 to 21. It featured a rich program with over 50 international and local artists. The event was free for all.
It took place on the world’s first museum ship and in the port’s fortress. The program included exhibitions, virtual reality, performances, talks, film screenings, and concerts.
The festival highlighted Durrës’ historical heritage and linked it to the global art scene. The artistic program, titled “For Cities and Women: A Flute, a Bell, Waters,” was curated by Arnisa Zeqo, assisted by Rina Meta, and produced by Anima Pictures.
Frédéric Jousset, founder and president of the Art Explora Foundation, thanked all partners, artists, local authorities, and cultural institutions for their support.
Durrës was the first stop of the festival this year. Next, Art Explora will sail to Nice, France (June 2-13), Rijeka, Croatia (September 12-21), Athens (October 3-12), and Limassol, Cyprus (October 25-November 5).
