Artist Faton Kryeziu Explores Life, Death, and Kosovo in First Albanian Exhibition

“Life and Death” (Jeta dhe vdekja) marks artist Faton Kryeziu’s first exhibition in Albania, where he showcases his works at the GOCAT gallery.
Kryeziu, with curator Suzana Varvarica, presents 25 large-format oil paintings on canvas.
Through dynamic colors and bold textures, Kryeziu dives into the cycle of life and death, inviting the audience into a conversation that stretches beyond the canvas. The GOCAT gallery’s contemporary space becomes an artistic journey, where light and darkness, beginnings and ends, clash as counterparts in dynamic harmony.
Curator Suzana Varvarica highlights that for Kryeziu, “Life and Death” reflects reality—everything that begins must eventually end.
Kryeziu chose “Burnt Kosovo” as the theme for this exhibition, presenting it as a counterpart to spring’s rebirth, blooming like a sharp observer of his own experiences and the events that have shaped the land he calls home.
