The chairman of the Socialist Party parliamentary group and co-chair of the EU–Albania Parliamentary Stabilization and Association Committee (SAC), Taulant Balla, held a meeting in Brussels with Marco Tarquinio, co-chair of the same committee.

The discussion focused on the progress of the negotiations and strengthening institutional cooperation.

“The Government and Parliament aim to complete technical negotiations within the next 21 months,” Balla said. “This follows the progress achieved in opening all chapter groups in just 13 months. The SAC serves as a key mechanism for transparent dialogue, accountability, and cooperation between the European Parliament and the Albanian Parliament.”

During the meeting, both co-chairs agreed that the next SAC session will take place in July in Strasbourg. The following session will be held in September in Tirana. These meetings will further strengthen institutional dialogue and parliamentary cooperation between the EU and Albania.
