Children Showcase Albanian Heritage through Traditional Costumes and Heirlooms

In an event held at the Center for Open Dialogue (COD) in Tirana, 30 traditional Albanian costumes, created with care and love by the children of the National Center for Children’s Culture, were showcased. The event, supervised by teacher Sergina, was more than just a fashion show; it featured objects passed down through generations, evoking a sense of pride and patriotism.
Among the participants, Nataniel brought an old jewelry box from his grandmother, Klajda presented an antique oil lamp, and Orthea shared an old spinning wheel. Each child contributed a piece of family history, passed down through the generations—whether it was an old rug or an embroidered cloth.
“The unity in the ‘Pride on Shoulders’ fashion show was fueled by love for the homeland,” wrote the National Center for Children’s Culture (QKKF) on social media.
