Church of St. Nicholas in Lushnja, a Gem of Religious Architecture

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, recently shared images of the Church of St. Nicholas, one of the oldest in the Myzeqe region.
“Across the Fier region, visitors can discover architectural gems, especially Orthodox churches and monasteries. The Church of St. Nicholas, located in the village of Toshkëz, in the Municipality of Lushnjë, is a Category I Cultural Monument, declared by the Rectorate of the State University with decision no. 6 on January 15, 1963,” said Balluku.
Built in the 18th century and frescoed by the artist Çetiri (Katro), the Church of St. Nicholas is one of the oldest in the Myzeqe area. It features a traditional design with a naos and courtyards surrounding it on three sides, representing a significant example of local religious architecture.
