General Directorate of Archives (DPA) has issued a call for researchers and archivists across Albanian territories to submit their work for publication in the magazine Arkivat Shqiptare (Albanian Archives).

Ardit Bido, Director General of the DPA, emphasized in a press release that “continuing our established tradition, the DPA (General Directorate of Archives) will further strengthen its collaboration with the State Agency of Archives of Kosova (ASHAK) and the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of Albanians in Skopje (ITSHKSH) through the publication of the upcoming issue of Arkivat Shqiptare (Albanian Archives)“.

This edition will feature contributions from researchers and archivists from Albania, Kosova, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.

“The goal of this publication is to further develop archival studies as an independent discipline, distinct from history and other related sciences,” Bido noted.

The issue will include articles on various subjects, such as archival challenges, study methodologies, digitization, content infrastructure improvement, innovation, and the evolving role of archives in today’s world.

Experts, archivists, and researchers from national archival networks, including participants from the 8th National Conference on Archival Studies, are encouraged to submit their work through the application portal at botime.arkiva.gov.al by September 15.

Arkivat Shqiptare (Albanian Archives), the only magazine of its kind across Albanian territories, facilitates the exchange of experiences and the sharing of archival research at the national level.
