The Ministry of Justice held an interinstitutional meeting of the Working Group for Chapter 23 – Judiciary and Fundamental Rights. The session was led by Deputy Minister of Justice and Chapter 23 negotiator, Tedi Dobi, in cooperation with the Directorate of Integration and Negotiations.

Representatives from independent justice institutions, constitutional bodies, and line ministries attended. They discussed Albania’s current preparations for EU membership.

The participants reviewed progress on implementing the interim benchmarks for Chapter 23, organized monitoring and reporting meetings with European Commission services, and outlined the next steps to meet the country’s EU integration commitments.

Deputy Minister Dobi stressed that close interinstitutional cooperation is key to strengthening the rule of law and ensuring effective functioning of democratic institutions.

As the lead institution for Chapter 23 and the Functioning of Democratic Institutions, the Ministry of Justice continues to pursue its obligations and interim objectives to advance Albania successfully toward EU membership.
