French Minister Inaugurates “Vila 31 x Art Explora” as New Center for Art and Culture

French Minister for Europe, Benjamin Haddad, emphasized the significance of the inauguration of the “Vila 31 x Art Explora” project, which aims to transform the former home of a dark era into a center of art and culture. The project will host residents from France, Tunisia, Lebanon, Malta, Italy, and Albania, offering a space for new talents to live and create for several months.
Haddad expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration between France and Albania in transforming Vila 31, a place that once represented a painful history for many Albanians, into a space dedicated to artistic creation and cultural dialogue. He described it as a symbol of Albania’s integration into European values.
He also emphasized the friendship between France and Albania, which is based on a shared history, geography, and values, making it possible to envision a common European future. He noted that Vila 31 goes beyond being a working space for artists; it represents a vision for art and sharing values, marking Tirana’s place in the contemporary art world. Haddad concluded by reaffirming France’s full support for Albania’s European integration.
