The National Book and Reading Center held an event called “Skanderbeg, Identity and Modern Times.” It marked 620 years since the birth of Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg, Albania’s National Hero.

Historian Pëllumb Xhufi spoke at the event. He shared Skanderbeg’s powerful story with young people. He showed how Skanderbeg united the Albanian nation and shaped its history, politics, and culture.

The event recalled journalist Indro Montanelli’s words. He called Skanderbeg “the great poet of Albanian politics.”

Skanderbeg remains the most famous Albanian in history. He led with strength and defended his people.

His role was more than military. He built a state, led with diplomacy, and helped shape civilization.

For centuries, he inspired others. His legacy pushed intellectuals to fight for freedom and independence.
