Under the title “Your Ashes, a Source of Eternity,” the Municipality of Pogradec and the Cultural Center “Lasgush Poradeci” organized a literary-artistic event in memory of the life and works of the poet of love, Llazar Gusho (Lasgush Poradeci). The event marked the 125th anniversary of the poet’s birth.

Present at the event were the Mayor of Pogradec, Ilir Xhakolli, and the Prefect of Korçë County, Nertil Jole.

“We are grateful for the literary heritage he has left us, providing profound reasons to always remember him through his verses and as a poet who fills us with pride for being Albanian,” stated Prefect Jole.

In the works of this romantic poet, the patriotic anguish of protecting the nation, the desire for the triumph of democratic ideals, and the concern for a general cultural and spiritual emancipation of Albanian society always resonated. He remains one of Albania’s greatest lyric poets, distinguished for his sensitivity and poetic sweetness.
