The Director of the National Center for Books and Reading (QKLL), Alda Bardhyli, held meetings focused on the translation and dissemination of Albanian literature into other languages and cultures.

Bardhyli met with Jan Maibom, First Secretary and Head of the Culture and Press Office at the German Embassy in Tirana, as well as Kohei Tsuboi, First Secretary and Cultural Affairs Officer at the Japanese Embassy in Albania.

Discussions highlighted the challenges of publishing original Japanese literature due to the shortage of translators from the language.

According to QKLL, the Japan Foundation, based in Rome, could serve as a key supporter of Albanian publications featuring both Albanian and Japanese authors. The Japanese Embassy expressed its willingness to support QKLL in organizing literary and artistic events promoting Japanese culture.
