The Mayor of Korçë, Sotiraq Filo, who disclosed this figure through social media, stated that this museum is one of the most exquisite museum spaces and one of the most significant destinations for our cultural heritage.

Filo further announced that numerous visitors have already been drawn to the museum in the first days of this year, marveling at the exhibited objects.

The collection of the National Museum of Medieval Art houses over 7,000 icons of religious and artistic value, primarily created during the Early Middle Ages.

This museum center, among the most important in the country, was inaugurated on April 24, 1980. The National Museum of Medieval Art (NMMA) features four pavilions, several laboratories for examination and conservation, and storage facilities.

The permanent exhibition hall contains around 200 works of art. This museum is unique in the Balkan region, both in terms of its collection and the professional preservation of its icons under ideal conditions that meet global standards.
