This weekend, the “Lira” Choir performed at one of Thessaloniki’s theaters, captivating the audience with their powerful songs.

The concert, held under the title “Honor of the Nation,” was an emotional event for the Albanian expatriates living in Greece.

The Aneton Theater, filled with music and art enthusiasts, witnessed an unforgettable performance. The “Lira” Choir presented some of the most beautiful pieces from its repertoire, all deeply connected to the musical heritage of the city of Korça and Albania as a whole.

Dozens of Albanian immigrants, as well as their Greek friends, filled the Aneton Theater for the performance by this choir with a century-long history. This event was in response to an invitation extended by the “Armonia” Choir of Thessaloniki.

Korça’s Mayor, Sotiraq Filo, praised the concert in a social media message, calling it a return to origins—a touching moment for the expatriates, who, despite being far from their homeland, maintained a strong connection to their traditions and national identity.
