Official magazine for the Migjeni Theatre in Shkodër

The Migjeni Theatre announced it will soon launch its official magazine.
The magazine will carry the title “Sipari.” It marks an important step for the theatre and for the cultural life of Shkodër.
The project aims to bring theatre activities closer to the public. It will also present the institution’s history and artistic heritage.
The theatre stated that Gerti Palali, Astrit Fani, and Suad Arilla worked intensively on the project. The first issue will appear in early April. The team described it as an important and historic step. It brings the theatre and its archive closer to readers.
The Migjeni Theatre is one of the most important cultural institutions in Shkodër. It is also one of the oldest theatres in Albania. The building stands in the city centre. It opened in 1958. It carries the name of the great poet Migjeni.
Shkodër has a long theatre tradition. Performances date back to 1879. During the socialist period, the theatre played a key cultural role. It staged works with social and political themes. These included plays by Bertolt Brecht.
Today, the theatre remains the main stage for drama in northern Albania. It hosts national and international performances. It also welcomes artistic festivals that keep the city’s cultural tradition alive.
