Picone, the Italian ballet master in ‘Opera’: I adore Albania! On stage again with Angelo, Adela Muçollari, a ‘Giselle’ like Carla Fracci!

One of the most well-known names of ballet in Italy and beyond, Giuseppe Picone has started preparations for staging “Giselle” at the Opera and Ballet Theater since February.
“I came in February for almost 10 days to see the troupe, and I came back again to work with Giselle. A good job has been done both by the Opera soloists and the young people of the Ballet school, so I hope that the public will appreciate this version of the ballet”, says the well-known Italian dancer and choreographer Giuseppe Picone.
Adolphe Adam’s ballet, which has become a tradition for the “Opera” stage, will be performed today at 20.00.
In Picone’s concept, “Giselle” comes more massive. The ballet master has also included the students of the ballet school.
From this experience, he confesses that among the ballet soloists in “Opera” there are promising names, while he does not spare his impressions of Albania either.
“I adore Albania, because for many years I have many friends, both in Italy and even in Vienna. As is Eno Peçi, whom I have known for 21 years, since I was invited as the first ballet soloist at the Vienna Opera, while Eno had just become part of the troupe”, says Picone.
With the theater, the Italian ballet master is also preparing the ballet “Don Quixote” and leaves open the possibility for other performances.
