TIRANA, March 6 – Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting of the Council of Ministers after the new cabinet members took the oath before President Bajram Begaj in a ceremony at the Palace of Brigades.

PM Rama shared images from the meeting and wrote: “Today at the table of the new government.”

Seven new members joined the cabinet at the meeting. Albana Koçiu serves as Deputy Prime Minister. Ferit Hoxha leads the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Besfort Lamallari heads the Ministry of Interior. Ermal Nufi leads the Ministry of Defence. Toni Gogu heads the Ministry of Justice. Enea Karakaçi leads the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy. Erjona Ismaili serves as Minister of State for Relations with Parliament.

Rama proposed the cabinet changes on February 26 during an expanded meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group.

President Begaj decreed the changes on March 4. Parliament approved them with a majority vote.
