TIRANA, July 23 – President Bajram Begaj marked the 114th anniversary of the Sinja Assembly, describing it as a significant moment in Albania’s national history.

In a message published on social media, Begaj highlighted the assembly held on July 23, 1912, as an example of unity before Albania declared independence.

The President said representatives from northern and southern Albania put aside divisions and joined efforts around the ideals of freedom and state-building.

Meanwhile, Begaj stressed that the spirit of the Sinja Assembly remains relevant today. He said unity, responsibility toward history and confidence in the future remain important for building a stronger Albania and advancing European integration.

The Sinja Assembly brought together Albanian leaders shortly before the declaration of independence on November 28, 1912.
