Promotiion of dialogue between the WB and EU business community / Regional Business Council established

The Business Council is envisaged as an advisory body of the Governing Board of the Investment Forum of the 6 Chambers of the Western Balkans (WB6 CIF), where our country is represented by the President of the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Ines Muçostepa. Together with the members of the Governing Board of the Western Balkan Chamber of Investments Forum (WB6 CIF), the Business Council will come up with policy proposals and suggestions and will be active with the governments of the region, RCC, CEFTA and other actors interested in creating a more stimulating and competitive business environment in the Western Balkans. Furthermore, the role of the Council is to promote a direct dialogue between the business community of the Western Balkans and EU decision-makers, in order to enable the region’s faster integration into the EU single market, through the approach comprehensive expansion.
From its advisory role, the Council will suggest appropriate measures, which will encourage and facilitate inclusive enlargement. Comprehensive enlargement is the principle of reducing barriers to trade and establishing common policy mechanisms when the conditions are met for the harmonization of common rules and the establishment of applicable institutions or practices. The objective is the perspective of the economies of the Western Balkans as future full participants in the internal market. The Council will be active in organizing regular meetings in the form of an EU-WB6 business platform in order to communicate barriers and opportunities for businesses with EU decision-makers.
