TIRANA, January 15 – Today, President Bajram Begaj and officials marked the remembrance of the Reçak massacre and honored its victims.

The massacre, reported 27 years ago by Ambassador William Walker, raised international awareness of the genocide occurring in Kosova.

This awareness led to the Rambouillet Conference, NATO intervention, and ultimately the independence of Kosova, establishing the state and the peace enjoyed today.

President Begaj and officials stressed that the massacre cannot be forgotten and that the call for justice remains alive. They also expressed gratitude to the United States as a strategic ally.
