RTSH Symphony Orchestra Recognized as a National Asset: Director Vasili Commits to Greater Support

RTSH Director General Eni Vasili met with the Albanian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra for the first time, describing it as a national asset and pledging greater institutional support. During the meeting, she praised the musicians’ dedication and emphasized the importance of ensuring they receive the recognition and rewards they deserve.
“I consider your ensemble an extraordinary asset, not only of Albanian Radio and Television, but of the entire country. I am fully committed to supporting you in every project and request that aims to raise your professional standards and compensation levels. You should be able to compete not only with what you give, but also with what you earn, alongside peers in Albania and orchestras abroad,” said Vasili.
She also highlighted the need to increase the orchestra’s visibility and audience, promising to strengthen its presence across RTSH platforms.
The RTSH Symphony Orchestra was founded on May 16, 1962, as the largest orchestral formation of its time. It brought together young Albanian musicians trained domestically and in prestigious institutions in Prague, Moscow, and Leipzig. Initially called the “Radio and Cinematography Symphony Orchestra,” its creation marked a significant milestone in Albania’s artistic and cultural development.
Its debut concert took place on August 20 of the same year, under the direction of conductor Mustafa Krantja. Since then, the RTSH Symphony Orchestra has performed the musical scores for the majority of Albanian films and proudly holds the honorary title “Honor of the Nation.”
