Rubio at the Munich Security Conference, Kosovo Also Participates

Washington’s top diplomat, Marco Rubio, will travel to Germany this week to lead a high-level U.S. delegation at the Munich Security Conference, held from February 13 to 15. He will later visit Slovakia and Hungary.

Kosovo will be represented by President Vjosa Osmani, Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and the head of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, Petrit Ajeti. Serbia and other Western Balkan countries will also attend with senior officials.

The conference takes place amid growing transatlantic tensions over security, trade, and the future of alliances. Russia’s war in Ukraine, now entering its fifth year, is expected to dominate discussions, alongside issues related to Iran.

Rubio’s key moment will be his speech in Munich on February 14, closely watched after last year’s controversial address by U.S. Vice President JD Vance.

Following Munich, Rubio will visit Bratislava and Budapest on February 15–16, highlighting the U.S. focus on Central Europe during a period of strategic uncertainty.
