Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on social media that a replica of the Skanderbeg monument located in Skanderbeg Square in Tirana will be placed in “George Kastrioti Skanderbeg” Square in Paris.

PM Rama responded to the social media rumors regarding the monument’s temporary cover, clarifying that it was being wrapped to take molds for the creation of a replica for Paris. “Yes, you read that correctly! Paris will have its own Skanderbeg,” Rama wrote.

Following a lengthy and successful diplomatic effort, PM Rama confirmed that French authorities have approved the installation of the monument dedicated to Albania’s National Hero in a Paris square bearing his name.

The monument in Tirana, placed in 1968 to mark the 500th anniversary of Kastrioti’s passing, was designed by Andrea Mano, Janaq Paço, and Odhise Paskali.
