Spiropali at NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Brussels: Corridor VIII a strategic artery

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, is in Brussels attending the NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting.

Today’s meeting confirms the Alliance’s unity and strategic commitment in facing multidimensional security challenges across the Euro-Atlantic area.

Spiropali shared on social media: “The NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting demonstrates our Alliance’s strategic engagement in security challenges. Albania remains a trusted ally in strengthening collective security,” along with images from NATO headquarters.

She emphasized that Albania reaffirms its commitment to military mobility and highlights the central role of Corridor VIII as a strategic route for NATO readiness.

“We and our allies remain dedicated to modernizing infrastructure, harmonizing procedures, and enhancing rapid movement capacities. This is our concrete contribution to collective security,” the minister added.

The ministerial discussions will focus on commitments made at the The Hague Summit, continued unwavering support for Ukraine, and measures to strengthen NATO’s capabilities against all threats, including hybrid ones.

Spiropali will also reiterate Albania’s role as a reliable ally and underscore its commitment to implementing the Hague Summit decisions, particularly increasing defense investments.

Additionally, she will participate in the meeting of countries that signed the Corridor VIII agreement, a strategic artery for military mobility.

The meeting is expected to discuss the strategic importance of advancing troop and equipment mobility in the region. Albania has also invited signatory countries to hold a ministerial meeting early next year in Tirana.
