Spring Begins at TKOBAP with Two World Premieres and a Classical Masterpiece

Spring kicked off at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet of Albania (TKOBAP) with two world premieres and a classical masterpiece.

Young composers, winners of the “Çesk Zadeja” award for emerging talent, showcased their compositions in an extraordinary concert with the TKOBAP Symphony Orchestra.

Composer Kris Sopiqoti presented the world premiere of Sonority, while Endri Sina debuted his symphonic work Paladea. Sopiqoti won first prize at the Çesk Zadeja competition with his orchestral piece Sonority.

“Sonority” was composed for the Çesk Zadeja competition, edition II, organized by TKOB and the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation. It encompasses spectrum, harmony, and polyphony, representing a contemporary work where you will experience a mix of these three musical qualities,‘ Sopiqoti explained on TKOB’s official website. Composer Endri Sina, on the other hand, elaborated that his symphony is cyclical in nature, with the first movement being pastoral, the second lament, the third a dance, and the fourth allegro.

The concert also featured a performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major, Op. 19, which was interpreted by violinist Leonard Simaku.
