The voluntarism of the youth, Gonxhja: Three girls have contributed to the ‘Onufri’ museum in Berat

During the summer season, Eni, Mikaela, and Ema are contributing their voluntary services to assist visitors at the National Iconographic Museum “Onufri.”
The Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, highlighted the example of these three young women from Berat, who have diligently helped visitors with orientation within the museum and monitoring the exhibition halls, offering valuable support to the staff during this period when the number of visitors increases significantly.
The engagement of these three young women was made possible as part of policies that promote voluntarism among the youth, initiated by the Berat Municipality and the Directorate of Education, Culture, and Youth, under an agreement with the Berat Museum Center.
“Voluntarism brings benefits by fostering active participation of young people, allowing them to explore their fields of interest while contributing to the community,” said Gonxhja.
At the end of their voluntary service, the girls will receive a reference letter detailing their contributions to this valuable commitment.
The “Onufri” Iconographic Museum is visited annually by thousands of domestic and foreign tourists. The museum is named after one of the master painters of 16th-century Albanian art. It was built on the ruins of a church reconstructed in 1797 in the “Kala” neighborhood, which was the city’s cathedral and is the most representative monument of post-Byzantine architecture in Berat.
