Tirana’s European Literature Festival Ends with Engaging Discussions and a Musical Finale

The European Literature Festival in Tirana wrapped up last night, featuring a series of inspiring author talks, performances, and a vibrant concert.
Croatian author Miro Gavran, supported by the Croatian Embassy, opened the third day with a conversation with director Andi Begolli. Gavran shared his journey from children’s literature to becoming a renowned playwright and novelist. He explored themes of loneliness and the blending of drama and comedy, offering a deep reflection on universal emotions. His work was brought to life through a performance by Albanian actors Luiza Xhuvani and Ilirda Bejleri.
Italian author Paolo Giordano, supported by the Italian Embassy, joined the festival to discuss his latest novel Tazmania, now translated into Albanian. Moderated by Albanian author Enkel Demi and publisher Arlinda Dudaj, Giordano explained how the novel emerged during the pandemic, reflecting on global unrest and the illusions of escaping life’s challenges.
The festival closed with a concert by Musica Nova, organized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, celebrating the cultural richness and cooperation that defined the event.
The European Union Delegation in Tirana thanked all authors, moderators, embassies, and attendees, highlighting FELT as a true celebration of European culture.
