Gaetano Donizetti’s masterpiece, Lucia di Lammermoor, captivated hundreds of art lovers during its second performance at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Albania (TKOBAP). The orchestra, led by Maestro Vakhtang Gabidzashvili, alongside the choir under the direction of Maestro Dritan Lumshi, and renowned soloists including Ramona Tullumani, Artur Vera, Raffaele Abete, Solen Alla, Matias Xheli, Erlind Zeraliu, and Marina Kurti, delivered an unforgettable performance.

This Italian opera intertwines forbidden love, betrayal, and madness, returning to the TKOB stage after 16 years. The lead role of Lucia was portrayed by the internationally acclaimed soprano, Jessica Pratt, a stark contrast to the past production where Marjana Leka and Oriana Kurteshi took on the role.

Lucia di Lammermoor, directed by Ada Gurra and conducted by Maestro Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli, is one of the most significant productions at TKOB this season. The opera tells the tragic tale of a young woman who fights for her love and refuses to make compromises, a story that resonates with powerful emotional depth.
