Toronto Hosts Inaugural Albanian Book Festival, Celebrating National Literary Heritage

The first-ever Albanian Book Festival in Toronto, Canada, was organized by the “Albanian-Canadian Alternative for Development” association. Aiming to promote Albania’s literary and cultural heritage, the festival featured 750 book titles from 81 publishers and 388 authors over two days.
Anxhela Paparizo, Director of Art and Culture for the organization, emphasized the festival’s importance in nurturing the love for the Albanian language and literature within North America’s Albanian community.
The event also honored the presence of journalist Enkel Demi, winner of this year’s Tirana Book Fair Award. Organizers hope the festival becomes an annual tradition, engaging the wider Albanian diaspora across North America and beyond.
