“K’cimi i Tropojës” has officially been included in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Edi Rama on social media, where he expressed his pride in the achievement. He noted that “K’cimi i Tropojës” was once a forgotten cultural practice, but through efforts over the past decade, it has been revitalized, safeguarded, and promoted to the world.

This recognition marks a significant moment in preserving and transmitting cultural heritage across generations, extending its influence beyond local borders. The nomination dossier for the inclusion of “K’cimi i Tropojës” was submitted to UNESCO in March 2021, solidifying the commitment to preserving this unique tradition.
