“Xubleta” /Jubleta/ in miniature”, the history of identity clothing for the new generations

“Xjubleta in miniature”, the identity element of mountain women in Northern Albania, in a creative and colorful journey, is the title of the cycle of workshops started in Shkodër.
These workshops will introduce high school students to the history, elements and craft techniques of this garment.
This workshop came as a collaboration of the Shkodër Regional Cultural Directorate with the “Hamdi Bushati” Vocational High School and the “Prenk Jakova” Artistic High School.
“We are starting a cycle of educational workshops by artistically deconstructing the decorative elements of the Jublet, focusing on aspects of the craft technique of creation, up to the legends that surrounded it and created the duality between myth and reality”, writes Shkodër Regional Cultural Directorate in a post on social networks as it has published and photo from this activity.
After polyphony, xhubleta /jublet/ was the next intangible heritage to be protected by UNESCO. The invention of jubilant clothing, which dates back 4 thousand years, is now the property of all mankind.
Jubleta, typical clothing of the northern areas is regarded as one of the rarest popular costumes, with several types and characteristics, cutting and sewing, according to the areas and ages of the women who wore it.
