Blendi Gonxhja took the oath today as Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports at the Presidency. He joins Prime Minister Edi Rama’s new cabinet, sworn in a day after Parliament approved the government program.

In a message on social media, Gonxhja said he felt honored by Rama’s trust and grateful to President Bajram Begaj for the decree and support. He called the new post a fresh challenge in service of Albania’s 2030 vision.

“Together, with work and dedication, Albania 2030 will be more than a tourist destination. It will be a European hub of culture, sport, and hospitality, a country where history meets the new, and where knowledge and talent shine,” Gonxhja said.

He also thanked colleagues at the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation for their cooperation during the past 19 months.

Gonxhja previously led the General Directorate of Road Transport Services and held the post of Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation since January 2024.
