The artistic community, a part of cultural policies

The Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, today extended an invitation from the United Nations Association Albania (UNAA) to participate in discussion meetings organized in collaboration with the ministry and various interest groups. The purpose of these meetings is to review and discuss all recommendations and proposals generated by the established working groups. This approach aims to directly involve the artistic community and ensure that all perspectives are integrally incorporated into the policy-making process.

UNAA announced that, in the second phase of the UNAA x Artnexus project, there will be an enhanced commitment to advancing more transparent, inclusive, and democratic cultural policies in Albania.

This phase follows the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between UNAA and the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, finalized this summer. The memorandum followed the presentation of a study on support mechanisms and financial resources for visual arts in Albania, conducted in the presence of the artistic community, as emphasized by UNAA.

UNAA underscores that “a key aspect of the mission is transparency, ensuring that cultural policies are open and accessible to all stakeholders within the cultural sector. Inclusion is achieved by creating a platform where diverse voices, particularly those of marginalized groups, are heard and valued in the policy-making process; and democratization involves working towards more equitable cultural policies for all.”
